The Creamsicle was introduced to the world in the late 1930s. While the original Popsicle was invented by Francis William “Frank” Epperson in the early 1900s, the Creamsicle was created by the Joe Lowe Company, who bought the rights to the Popsicle brand in the 1920s. Originally introduced as a new variety of Popsicle with an ice cream center, the Creamsicle quickly gained popularity among American youth. The Creamsicle was originally only available in orange, but additional flavors were soon introduced. Today, there are three Creamsicle flavors available: orange, raspberry, and blueberry. And, of course, the Creamsicle continues to be a summertime favorite among American children (and adults!) today.
